It is expected that the pricing for Sprint's WiMAX service Xohm will not be like cellular plans but be based on customer needs with lots of different offerings such as by the day, month or a year without a contract tied to a phone or computer card. Sprnt's CTO Barry West discussed the plan yesterday at WiMAX World in Chicago.

According to RCR Wireless News, West said. "Xohm currently has 10,000 sites in preparation for WiMAX infrastructure, 1,750 base stations ordered for delivery this year, 20,000 antennas ordered, 2,000 backhaul links ordered from third parties and 8,000 Sprint backhaul links in deployment."
