Zoom Zooms in on iPhone Market with Transciever & Bluetooth Headphone

Zoom Technologies, Inc. announced  it has begun shipping new additions to Zoom's iHiFi(TM) line of Bluetooth audio products. These new products include a Bluetooth transceiver that plugs into the dock connector of an iPod or iPhone, a Bluetooth wireless headphones/headset, and products that combine a Bluetooth transmitter with the headphones/headset. The Zoom line of Bluetooth products enables wireless communication between cell phones, home audio systems, headphones, computers, TVs, and a wide range of other devices that generate or play music and other sounds.

The Model 4380 headphones/headset can be used as Bluetooth wireless stereo headphones for an iPod or iPhone equipped with the Model 4355 transceiver. Model 4380 can also be used as a headset with built-in microphone for Bluetooth mobile phones and other devices that work with Bluetooth headsets. Controls on the headphones/headset allow users to switch from audio playback to telephone calls and then back to audio while the phone and iPod remain safely in a pocket, purse or briefcase. The estimated retail price of the Model 4380 is $59.

Model 4380 wireless headphones also work with any stereo, radio, TV, or other audio device equipped with a Zoom Model 4353 Universal Wireless transmitter, which plugs into any audio source with a standard 3.5 mm (1/8 inch) headphones jack. The estimated retail price of the Model 4353 Universal transmitter is $59.

Zoom also introduced money-saving packages that combine two Zoom Bluetooth products. Those combination packages include:

  • Model 4383 combines a Model 4353 Bluetooth audio transmitter and a
  • Model 4380 headphones/headset, and has an estimated retail price of $99.
  • Model 4385 combines a Model 4355 Bluetooth audio transceiver for the
  • iPod and iPhone and the Model 4380 headphones/headset, and has an estimated retail of $89.
  • Model 4386 combines a Model 4311 class 1 Bluetooth adapter for USB ports with the Model 4380 headphones/headset, and has an estimated retail of $89.  This combination allows Skype users to have a wireless headset for Skype calls that can also be used for enjoying stereo music from their PC. If a call comes in when someone is listening to music, Model 4386 automatically silences the music so the incoming ring is heard.  When the call is over, a simple button push turns the music back on.
