Agilent offers 5.7 Mbps HSUPA Test

Agilent announced a new 5.7 Mbps HSUPA test capability for its W-CDMA/HSPA Test and Lab Applications, which run on the 8960 (E5515C) Wireless Communications Test Set.

HSUPA is a 3G mobile telephony protocol in the HSPA family with uplink speeds up to 5.7 Mbps. Also known as E-DCH (Enhanced Dedicated Channel), it is designed to extend and improve the performance of UMTS protocols by reducing latency and increasing uplink throughput. Agilent's E1963A W-CDMA/HSPA Test Application provides Radio Bearer and Frequency Division Duplex test modes and applicable 3GPP TS 34.121 HSUPA RF measurements for the latest HSUPA manufacturing and device verification. The addition of Agilent's new 5.7 Mbps HSUPA test capability allows engineers to now test all available Category 6 HSUPA-capable mobile devices and chipsets.

Agilent's E6703E W-CDMA/HSPA Lab Application features all the capabilities of the Test Application, while also adding packet-switched (PS) data connectivity for HSDPA Category 8/E-DCH Category 6 mobile devices. Engineers designing high-speed mobile data devices and applications can now use the Wireless Communications Test Set with the new 5.7 Mbps HSUPA PS data capability to emulate real-world test scenarios. As a result, they can find difficult design problems earlier in the design cycle and then fix them more quickly.

The 8960 Test Set can be used for wireless device development, manufacturing and repair of all major 2G, 2.5G, 3G and 3.5G wireless technologies. It provides test solutions for mobile devices across the entire lifecycle on a single platform.
