OZ SmartMail Client Available

OZ, the leading consumer mobile messaging solution provider, today announced the availability of OZ SmartMail, a new email service that enables carriers to offer smartphone users advanced email features and access to their favorite ISP or portal email accounts like Yahoo! Mail, Windows Live Hotmail, AOL Mail and Google Gmail.

Operating on smartphones running Windows Mobile, Symbian, and other operating systems, OZ SmartMail is aimed at the growing "prosumer" market, commonly defined as the savvy mobile email consumer, small business owner or home business individual who uses advanced email functionality. OZ's market research shows that prosumers want easy-to-use, mobile access to all their email, all the time, but want to avoid the costs and complications of "enterprise" mobile email.

In 2007 alone, approximately 118 million smartphones were sold worldwide, according to market researcher Canalys*. Accordingly, wireless companies are looking beyond the BlackBerry user, and recognizing the opportunity to bring business emails directly to the variety of smartphones and consumer-centric mobile devices available today.

Recently, Verizon Wireless launched Email & Web for Smartphone which use the OZ SmartMail client.
