1 Million G1's and 3 Million Touch Diamonds Shipped by HTC in 2008

HTC's CEO Peter Chou expects shipments of the T-Mobile G1 will reach one million by the end of 2008.

HTC also expects shipments of three million Touch Diamond phones  by the end of this year. Both forecasts are greater than their original projections.

Chou noted there will not be lay-offs of staff,  saying that HTC's business has not been affected by the world economic recession.

Chou suggested that HTC is planning to acquire a handset design company in the United States but did not give any more details.
