Blockbuster to Live Mesh Movies on Mobiles
The Dallas Morning News reports that Blockbuster Video is working with Microsoft for movies on mobile devices.
"Eventually, we'll give customers instant access to any movie on any device with an Internet connection and a screen," said Keith Morrow, Blockbuster's chief information officer.
The story also reports that Blockbuster could use the technology in airports. Where travelers download movies from Blockbuster kiosks to portable media players.
The service will be built on the new software platform from Microsoft, "Live Mesh." The platform allows Internet devices to share data.
Live Mesh will work with Macs and Windows Mobile smartphones in the near future.
Morrow also suggests there could be a system that would notify parents if their kids tried to watch a movie during homework time.
