There were voice and data outages on the AT&T network in them Midwest, Sunday, due to a storm. Some subscribers had no voice and data access, while others experience dropped calls, and others noticed slow speeds. Chicago was hit hard.

There was weather-related power failure in Bloomfield, Michigan that caused the problem. At about 9:30 a.m. CST on Sunday, a power failure impacted an AT&T facility in Bloomfield, MI, causing some mobile service disruption.

AT&T Tweeted the news at http://twitter.com/ATTNews, with good news today,"Virtually all service traffic is running normally today. We continue work to restore a small number of impacted local cell sites in MI."

Some websites speculated that there was increased pressure from sales of the iPhone 3G at Walmart and the Verizon BlackBerry Storm.  This humorous and technologically impossible typo appeared on Information Week, "BlackBerry Storm Causes Major A&T Outage"
