Review of Reviews Palm Pre - Beautiful CES First Looks Review

There has been a lot of buzz from CES about the Palm Pre, that will be offered in the U.S. from Sprint. So you don't have to scroll through all the reviews so far, we've summarized them for you here.

Reviewers' first impressions of the Palm Pre are very positive, calling it amazing and the most important smartphone to be announced in the last two years.

The user-interface of the Palm Pre was loved by all who viewed it for its ease of use and beauty.  The keyboard similar to other Palm smartphones was admired just for being there.  The touchscreen is brilliant and reviewers gushed over how gorgeous it is and how well it worked. The Palm Pre web browser is super fast, outstanding and responsive.

In other words, the early evaluations of the Palm Pre are very very very suplerlative with an excitment that has not been seen since the iPhone.  The Palm Pre does have more features than the iPhone including: multitasking, copy and paste, an LED flash, web integration, and a wireless charger. Engadget wrote of the Palm Pre the  UI is incredibly well thought out and smooth making things easy and smooth. The Palm Pre is surprisingly light and thin but doesn't feel like a toy. The camera takes decent photos and has an LED flash.

Gizmodo call the Palm Pre simply amazing and the most important handset to be announced in two years. The OS looked great. The accelerometer works quite well. The hardware is high quality. The browser was extremely responsive. The screen is beautiful and takes beautiful photos. Features not found on iPhone include copy and paste and MMS.

Bonnie Cha at CNET wrote that the highlight of the Palm Pre is the user-interface and called it beautiful and cool. Multitasking was easy. The screen is sharp and brilliant. The hardware feels solid and it appears that time and effort were put into the design.  The web browser is oustanding. It brings a fresh look and way to interact with smartphones. She thinks it will overtake the BlackBerry Storm and the stiffest competition for the iPhone.

Greg Kumparak at MobileCrunch called the OS "gorgeous,' and the card deck management system fantastic. Gesture functions that were multi-touch worked well. For someone who deals with these kinds of tech toys all the time his best comment is "I want one, Boy oh Boy do I want one."
