Fusion One & Useful Networks Offer Useful Lost Phone Finding

fusiononelogonew.jpgFusionOne and Useful Networks are creating a solution for lost phones. The service will allow cell phone owners to locate  lost or stolen mobile phones, and remotely delete personal contact information from it.

FusionOne, Useful Networks, are working together to provide a more connected and more protected society via mobile technology. The two companies are now partners, providing mobile security for FusionOne's Network Address Book customers.

FusionOne's Network Address Book solution will be integrated with Useful Networks' UN Platform to provide phone location and remote purge capability to mobile consumers.

The UN Platform is a toolset that application developers can apply to use location-based services (LBS) across multiple carriers, without having to create a different integration for each individual one. Third party applications can make calls to the UN Platform, get back all the location information they need, and be secure in the knowledge that they are adhering to carrier privacy and security requirements.

FusionOne's multi-sync service, known as Network Address Book, centralizes address books across a wide range of communications services, including mobile and Web applications and mobile phones. Network Address Book consolidates these address books into a single globally accessible location that enables users to update all their address books, driving increased customer satisfaction and usability.

"The security features in a mobile content portability solution are a great example of how location-based services can greatly benefit mobile subscribers," said Brian Levin, CEO of Useful Networks. "Now if you lose your phone, you can quickly locate the phone and if necessary, remotely delete the information on it to protect your confidential contact information." "Our most important social networks are the contacts in our mobile phones," said Mohan Sadashiva, senior vice president of marketing for FusionOne. "Location-based services will be a major driving force for mobile social networks. The location capability provided by Useful Networks is a great way for developers to maximize the potential of mobile social networking.
