The Palm Pre is a very complicated device that simplifies your life. Their ad state, "Thinking ahead is a beautiful thing. You do need to think ahead because wiith any new device it may take a while to figure out all the quirks. Here are some tips we distilled form forums, users guides and Palm Pre users.
We suggest that you take some time to read the Palm Pre User Guide and watch tutorial videos to help learn how to use the Palm Pre. You can browse or search through them.
One of the first warnings they give in the manual is, "Although the battery may come with a sufficient charge to complete the setup process, we recommend that after setup you charge your phone until the battery icon is full to ensure that the battery is fully charged."
Save Battery Life
You can help save battery life by not keeping the Palm Pre in direct sun or hot temperatures which could damage the battery. Another good tip is to charge your Palm Pre whenever you can. Charge it overnight. The battery has a much longer useful life when it is topped off frequently than when it is charged after it is fullydrained.
Send Photos to Facebook
If you set up a Facebook account in the Palm Pre Photos application, your Facebookcontacts and calendar events appear in the Contacts and Calendar applications on your phone also. Likewise, if you set up a Facebook account in Contacts or Calendar, the account is already set up to allow you to upload pictures from Photos.
Use Ringtones to Identify Contacts
When you create contacts on the Palm Pre a contact you can select a ringotn. Tap Set a ringtone, Tap to preview the ringtone., Tap the ringtone. (To use a music file as a ringtone, tap and tap the file name.) and then Tap Done. You can also select any song for all incoming calls.
Use/Buy DRM Free Music
the Sprint issue resolution center, they note a common issue is the
inability to transfer music purchased from the Sprint music store from
another device. Music tracks that you purchased from
the Sprint Music Store are DRM-protected (DRM = Digital Rights
Management). So unfortunately, the DRM protection doesn't allow you to
transfer those tracks to a DRM-free device like the Pre. However,
the tracks you buy for your Pre, as well as other DRM-free music you
own, can be freely transferred between your computer and your Pre,
along with any other device that accommodates DRM-free files.
To Transfer Media Files Download Palm Music Asistant
If you want to tranfer media files from your Palm Pre to your computer download Palm Music Assistant to make the transfer easier. The Palm Music Assistant gives you an easy way to move music files you
bought from the Amazon MP3 app on your phone into your iTunes library
on your computer. You can do the transfer yourself using the USB Drive
on your phone but the Palm Music Assistant automates the process for
Sprint Radio is Free
Sprint Radio offers up to 50 commercial-free streaming channels
featuring different genres and 100 live stations throughout the U.S.
There is a variety of musical styles to choose from including Adult
Contemporary, Urban Hitz and Today's Top Hits to Reggae, Latin, Country
and Christian Hits. Select the Sprint TV icon from your Palm Pre's launcher, then select a station.
Hardware Issues - Return Palm Pre
few people have reported that when they open and close the slider
(keyboard) Palm Pre that the phone turns off or crashes. This is due
to a loose battery, the temporary fix is to put tape or paper to hold
the battery in place while you wait for a replacement. It has been reported Sprint will
replace the phone as a warranty issue.
Forum Suggestions for Help
First, always check the Offical Palm Pre forum
for resolutions. It's a great place to share information and find out
resolutions to issues. One forum poster writes that since the Palm Pre
is first generation device, patience is required. "We just need to
relax. If the phone can't do what you absolutely need for work, return
it. 30 day trial period is a good thing."

When all else fails, call Sprint for tech support or go to your local Sprint Store, where they say their ReadyNow program has trained employees to help .
