Although not all the reviews are in on the BlackBerry Bold 9650 from Verizon, there is a general theme that this smartphone formerly known as the BlackBerry Tour2 excels at messaging, excellent call quality and is great for international travelers.

The BlackBery Bold 9650 is the update to the BlackBerry Tour, with 512 megabytes of more memory and an optical trackpad. Reviewers praised the keyboard, and convenient site and button keys. Reviewers call the BlackBerry Bold 9650 solid, strong, and well done.

The 3.2 megapixel camera takes clear photos and media features works well. Where the BlackBerry experience falls short is in web browsing, which will be corrected with a webKit browser in OS 6 .Our readers have found installing the BOLT browser an excellent alternative for more PC-like browsing. The screen is smaller than most touchscreen smartphones with a 2.4 inch 480 x360 pixel display.

Adam Zeiss at CrackBerry reported that the BlackBerry Bold 9650 looks and feels great like the BlackBery Tour, with more memory and Wi-Fi. He loved the solid keyboard and convenient sites buttons and keys. The trackpad is a bit "clicky," while the call quality is great. He is thrilled that it is a CDMA smartphone on the Verizon network.

Sascha Segan rated the BlackBery Bold 9650 from Sprint 3.5 out 5. He found it boring, but solid with great basics clear voice calls, easy text/email, sharp photos and strong battery life.  He also liked that it's a world phone that you can take all over the world. It's the exact same size as the BlackBerry Tour and slightly lighter with excellent call quality. Media features are not sate of the art but well done nonetheless. He found the screen size a bit small.

Shaun Mahal at Brighthand rated the BlackBerry Bold 9650 3.5 out of 5. The 2.4 inch 480 x360 screen is crisp and bright with ambient light adjustment with a better keyboard. He found the trackpad to be jumpy. He doesn't like the lower-side location of the USB port on the side of the BlackBerry Bold, it makes it impossible to use the phone while charging. He calls the Bold a solid performer with a weak web browsing capabilities. It's one of the few phones by Sprint and Verizon that can used outside of the U.S. It streamed audio well and had excellent call quality. Messaging is the strongest feature of the BlackBerry Bold 9650. The 3.2 megapixel camera has auto focus. For messaging it is great as well as business. There is also a new Gmail integration feature.
