Gay men social networking service fabulis now has an iPhone app. Fabulis members, also known as 'fabbits,' can instantly connect with people nearby, engage in real-time chat with members who are online via the iPhone or web, and to browse more than 71,000 gay-relevant local events. 

To celebrate, fabulis is awarding anyone who writes either a detailed blog post on their personal blog, or submits a video to their YouTube Channel  a free fabulis t-shirt.

Also unique to the app is the "shake-it" or random-friend-maker feature - a colorful slot machine style screen that when shook, connects users based on their proximity. fabulis is available free of charge at www.fabulis.com and in the Apple iPhone App Store.

People Fabulis Features

• The default view, or the "nearby" tab, lists fabulis members in order of proximity to the user's current GPS-based location. Unique to this app is the ability to display members who are both using fabulis on the iPhone or Web - utilizing GPS for mobile users and GEO-IP for Web-based users. Members can also manually click to change their current location to anywhere in the world.
• The "following" view provides an alphabetical directory of the members the user is following. This enables the users to carry around their own global gay rolodex.
• The browse button enables the user to view members by their fabulis ranking (fabulis ranking is determined by votes from other members and the user's own activities on fabulis), by their descriptive profile tags (e.g. foodie, traveler, designer), or by city.
• The shake-it button launches the fabulis slot machine, which returns a random fabulis member nearby allowing instant profile view, chat, and ranking display.

Messages - Enables the user to engage in real-time one-to-one chats with other members who are online via the iPhone or Web.

Plans - Provides instant access to the largest directory of gay-relevant events in the world. More than 71,000 events are currently available on fabulis, and thousands are added daily.

• The default "Plans" view shows upcoming popular events nearby to the user's GPS-based-location. The user can also re-sort the list by date, as well as jump to view event listings in other locations.
• Clicking on an event enables the user to view details about the event, browse the attendees, and check out user-submitted tips for when to go, what to bring, what to wear, and what to expect and when to leave for each event.

Profile - View the user's own profile, current ranking, info, and pictures.

Shake It - Shaking the iPhone from any part of the app will pull up a random profile picture along with the member's name. Tapping on the picture provides access to the profile, proximity and the ability to connect live using one-on-one messaging.
