Droid Charge by Samsung rated 3.75 out of 5 by Wireless and Mobile News' Review of Reviews
The Samsung Droid Charge was delayed due to a 4G LTE software glitch and finally was released on May 15. Reviewers raved about the Super AMOLED touchscreen, great camera/camcorder and fantastic 4G LTE speeds. Videos looked great and played smoothly.
Reviewers didn't like the smudgy plastic casing, out-of date processor and price tag of the Samsung Droid Charge.
Call quality was rated subpar to good. Battery life fared better than the HTC ThunderBolt for two reviewers, while one experienced battery issues. Some reviewers preferred HTC Sense on the HTC ThunderBolt over Samsung's TouchWhiz UI.
The Samsung Droid Charge has a 1GHz processor, Android 2.2 Froyo, 4G LTE, 4.3" Super AMOLED
touchscreen, an 8MP rear-facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and HDMI
port. It also comes with the ability to connect to up to 10 mobile
hotspots. Other features include a 1.3MP front-facing camera, 2GB of
internal storage and 32GB on a microSD card.
The closest competitors to the Samsung Droid Charge are the HTC ThunderBolt (see comparison), dual-core Droid X2 (see comparison)

The Samsung Droid Charge costs $299 from Verizon Wireless with a contract. Mobile hotspots are free until June 15.
Online retailers are discounting the price of the Samsung Droid Charge. Amazon Wireless discounted it to $249.99 for new and renewing customers with a contract. It's also discounted at Wirefly and LetsTalk.

Jamie Lendino at PCMag rated the Samsung Droid Charge 4 out of 5 for its 4G performance, ultra-vibrant Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen, and stellar camera/camcorder. He didn't like the cheap-feeling plastic case, slow CPU benchmarks and battery life. He liked the plastic buttons but preferred the haptic buttons on the HTC. Voice quality was very good. Battery life for standby was fine but inconsistent with short talk times. He thought that the Samsung Hubs were a lighter addition to Android but were not as full-featured as HTC Sense. Test photos were vibrant and natural. He thought the HTC was faster.
Bonnie Cha at CNET rated the Samsung Droid Charge 4 out of 5 for its stunning Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen, 4G LTE data speed, battery life, call quality and camera. She didn't like the price, plastic case or the processor speed. She liked the TouchWhiz UI for new users. Photo quality and video quality were good. Call quality was good. When using 4G LTE, the battery lasted 6 hours.
Lisa Gade at MobileTechReview rated the Samsung Droid Charge 3.5 out of 5 for impressive specs, wondrous touchscreen and remarkable data speeds. TouchWhiz was okay, case was smudgy, and voice quality was subpar. The Droid Charge scored 967 in Quadrant vs. 1676 for the Incredible 2 and 1845 for the ThunderBolt. Photo quality and Battery life was very good.
