Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD vs Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket & Galaxy Nexus

There are more Samsung Galaxy devices in the Samsung Universe since the start of CES and pre-press briefings. AT&T announced that the latest Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD.

Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD has 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen(1280x720), 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 1080p video capture, removable battery and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.  The main difference is the screen size and shape which accommodate HD video viewing.  When shown at CES it was called "razor-thin."

We we contacted the Samsung PR rep she didn't have much more information.  We figured it would have similar specs to the GALAXY S II HD LTE, launched in Korea. That Super AMOLED screen has a screen ratio of 16:9, natural color reproduction, and 180-degree viewing angle that ensures a clear image from far left or right.

We would be nice if it also if  the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD  like GALAXY S II HD LTE had  a large battery capacity of 1850mAh, NFC (Near Field Communication), flash support, 8 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi support, and Bluetooth.

It's getting confusing because there is also a Samsung Galaxy S II and Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket.

The Samsung Galaxy S II has the smaller screen 4.3" (480x800), 1.2GHz processor and is not compatible with the LTE network but still. made it to top best smartphone final list and AT&T top best smartphones 2011. The Samsung Galaxy S II was the top non-iPhone seller on the AT&T network in October, November and December.

The well-reviewed Samsung Galaxy S II(2) Skyrocket has a 4.5" touchscreen(207 ppi), 1.5GHz processor and LTE network access. The HD resolution  on the  Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD screen is expected to be 316ppi. The iPhone 4S has a retina display with 326ppi.

To make it more confusing there is also the Samsung Galaxy Note which is the biggest Galaxy smartphone of them all at AT&T comes with stylus for writing.

The Samsung Galaxy S has been a very popular phone on the AT&T network and the Samsung Captivate was recently updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread with lots of new features.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus already available from Verizon Wireless and coming from Sprint does not have a microSD slot but has a 4.65" Super AMOLED touchscreen, 5MP camera, Android 4.0 and 1.2GHz processor. When it comes to software, Windows Phone is beating Android, BlackBerry and iPhone 4S.
