Nokia Lumia 920 Work for Will a Lot of Work?

Will Work for WillWill Arnett declares that the Nokia Lumia 920 is the ultimate digital assistant in the  commercial.  However, since he is such a big star he needs a human assistant to hold the digital assistant. The job could be yours, if you don't mind working for it. this

He says,  "I'm me and me needs handlers and so I hired Todd. I'm hiring a  new Todd it could be you."

You can find out how, by going to workforwill.com that's when the work starts.  When you go to the website, you see an expanded version of the commercial. In order to enter the contest, you will have to create your own live tiles, and are asked to connect to Facebook to help populate the features and find out more about you.

Then there is a long video while you wait for the personalized video.  The personalized video from Will was fairly boiler plate, but what it did do was impose the Nokia Lumia  920 Start screen with live tiels on the device in the video, a neat special effects trick.

Will commented on the color chosen and social media in the customized video. We picked Yellow which appears to be a favorite because the Nokia Lumia 920 in Yellow, Cyan and Red are sold-out and backordered on Amazon Wireless while other colors(white/black) are in stock.

There is more work for you to do after entering the contest,  you're not judged upon your live tiles but on how many of your friends vote for you on the website.

Getting your friends to vote for you may or may not be a lot of work....

Therefore, if you don't have a lot of friends, you may not win the contest.  Later on the entries will be judged on tile creativity.

What the website does well is show how easy it is to create live tiles add widgets on the Windows Phone Start Screen.  The tiles are larger than Android icons and fit edge to edge.  The process of populating the tiles is very easy and should be about the same for the Nokia Lumia 920.

The Nokia Lumia 920 sells for $99 with a contract, $50 Off Coupon Link AT&T Wireless for new customers with a plan.

It is a Windows 8 phone with Microsoft app integration.  Sky Drive storage, Nokia maps and Nokia streaming music are free.

The Nokia Lumia 920 features  include 4.5" touchscreen, 2000mAh battery, Nokia Maps, GPS, wireless charging, Microsoft SkyDrive, dual-core Snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM, 4G LTE data, and 32GB of storage.

The 8MP camera has PureView imaging with Carl Zeiss® optics, BSI sensor, and optical image stabilization for low-light action shots.
The fine print states "This is a contest, not an offer of employment. No purchase necessary to enter or win the “Work for Will” contest. Open to U.S. residents 18 or older (19 in AL and NE, 21 in MS). Contest ends January 17, 2013 at 11:59 pm EST. "

The position of “Will’s Assistant” will consist of spending one day (defined as a minimum of eight (8) hours) shadowing Will Arnett as he performs various activities, the nature and timing of which are subject to the discretion of Sponsor; collectively (the “Prize” or “Prizes”).Winner will not be required or requested to perform any work for Will Arnett. The total ARV of the Prize is $3,159.96.

Will Arnett is very popular with smartphone marketers. Last year, or Facebook he played a fake attorney Ken Wesley with a similar scheme for sharing preferences with a chance to win an AT&T smartphone.  We wondered if it was too personal.

This promotion seems to less personal but does record what you like and don't like. The Nokia Lumia 900 was promoted with "The Smartphone Beta Test is Over" ads without saying what the phone was with same sardonic flair.

We ask our readers,  "Would getting out the vote to the website be too much work to win a day of not working with Will Arnett?"

  1. I just spent four years learning Android. I'm not ready to have the phone do it all for me.

  2. Nokia does all the work for you for less than Android. I love Arnet, hes LOL funny. He gets how silly people are about their phones.

  3. You need to take those large ivory tusks out of your commercial. Real or not they are tacky. And illegal if real/
