Cyber Week Deals: $150 Custom Moto X (Wed) & HTC One-One Cent

BlackFridayThursCyberMondaysales2013It was quite a week surround Black Friday at Wireless and Mobile News, we looked into all deals and found the best around for our readers.  We worked on Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  Some websites had problems and they are trying to make up for it this week while Best Buy and Amazon still going strong.

Update November 23, 2014:The incredible Samsung Galaxy S5 for $1 deal is now live at Best Buy for Black Friday 2014. iPad Air 2 deals are coming and we suspect that will sell out quickly. T-Mobile started its deals. Virgin Mobile has cut prices, already. Verizon deals are on the horizon. AT&T has not announced its daily deals. However, Sprint has some new deals ready

The Best Buy website did survive with some error messages while MotoMaker did not fare well.

Motorola promised  great deals on  the MotoMaker Moto X on Cyber Monday and the Moto lost it mojo and went the way of the Obama Care website.

Cyber Monday was supposed to bring a $150 discount on the unlocked model but all the options and colors crashed the website.  We also found out that people who work at Motorola are not called Motorolaers, like Google people are called Googlers but Motorolans.

Motorolan Dennis Woodside apologized and wrote

"... Starting at 12 pm EST/9 am PST this Wednesday, we will relaunch the $349 promotion. To help make up for this major inconvenience to shoppers, we will also add an additional promotional day on Monday, December 9. We will double the quantity of phones available, while supplies last, to allow as many people as possible to take advantage of the promotion. We're also extending the 30-percent-off offer on accessories to these two days....

On behalf of all Motorolans, I apologize for what occurred today. I appreciate your understanding as we get this fixed in time for Wednesday and Monday."

Here we have the biggest company in Internet world Google not able to handle traffic, which was probably less than heathcare.gov but Google can't make it work.

Motorola claims it misjudged the demand which was greater than expected. Presale testing wasn't sufficient to find the weakness in the MotoMaker engine.  Motorolans couldn't fullfill the orders.

Part of the problem may have been that website was saving people's designs.  The Moto X is assembled in Texas by Americans.

Then the geeks who wanted a great deal kept coming back.  This is the first time Google had order problems, Nexus 7, and Nexus 4 orders caused all sorts of delays and problems.

We thought it was all over, however there are still deals coming into our inbox. The latest Cyber Week deals from Best Buy is (Tuesday–Thursday Only): free $100 Gift Card with any Sprint smartphone and activation and you save $150 on the HTC One, prided at $49.99 with activation and two-year contract.

Amazon currently has cheaper deals with prices as low as 1 cent with a contract for the HTC One . The HTC One SprintHTC One New Review of Reviews vs GS 4 vs iPhone 5S (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon & T Mobile) is one cent, HTC One VerizonHTC One New Review of Reviews vs GS 4 vs iPhone 5S (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon & T Mobile) with a waived activation fee for new customers and is as low as one cent.

We think the deals are not over, yet. We have a few more weeks until the holidays and retailers online and offline want you to buy more and more.
