Motorola Testing Femtocells

motorolalogo.jpgMotorola is testing 3G femtocells in Europe. Femtocells are indoor devices that allow cellular calls to be routed via a broadband connection to handsets indoors. Femtocells are expected to improve indoor reception and make In-home calling costs cheaper for 3G users who usually have problems getting signals in their homes.

Femtocells enable a significantly lower cost of delivery for wireless traffic, in comparison to the macrocell network. Consumers will also benefit from consolidated billing.
