comScore, Inc released a study of touchscreen mobile phone adoption in
the U.S.and touchscreen phone adoption is growing rapidly. iPhone, LG Dare, LG Voyager (which also has a keyboard) BlackBerry Storm and Palm Treo top the list. The LG Dare used to be one of the few Verizon feature phones with email access that did not require a data plan. The younger crowd seems to be more "touchy" with higher percentages of touchscreen users in the younger demographics.
The study showed a significant 159-percent growth rate during the
past year to 23.8 million users in August 2009.
The growth in
touchscreen device adoption substantially outpaced the already strong
63-percent growth in U.S. adoption of smartphones. iPhone leads

LG is showing off its new LG Chocolate BL20, a slider 3G touchscreen phone with hidden touch navigation keys, and a 5 megapixel camera. It is very thin with smooth slide side touch control (see video.)
The LG Chocolate BL20 also has widgets for access to news, weather, contacts, alarm and the web. The video shows “clear memo capture with text scan.” It has been reported that it has quad-band GSM support, 2.4-inch 262K-color QVGA display, Bluetooth, FM radio and a microSD card slot for expanding the built-in 130MB of memory.

The Samsung Rogue from Verizon is a feature phone full of high-end features. The AMOLED touchscreen is gorgeous, and all reviewers thought the web browsing was good to excellent. The call quality and camera are very good.
The large QWERTY keyboard on the Samsung Rogue
was well-liked and comfy for excellent texting, IM and email. Reviewers liked the 3.5 standard headphone jack.
The Samsung Rogue is one of the new Verizon phones that requires a data plan and also has an extra fee for email. A possible drawback is that it doesn't sync contacts like most business smartphones do. One reviewer liked the fact that you can use a combination of the touchscreen or the keyboard.
