AT&T Mobile CEO Sigman Signals Retirement, de la Vega Named Successor

att&tlogo.jpgAT&T Inc. announced that Stan Sigman, president and chief executive officer, AT&T Mobility, will retire after 42 years with the company. Ralph de la Vega, group president-Regional Telecom & Entertainment, was named president and CEO, AT&T Mobility, replacing Sigman, effective immediately. Sigman will assist with the transition through year-end.

“Stan is one of the industry’s most outstanding and accomplished leaders,” says AT&T Chairman and CEO Randall Stephenson, noting that Sigman was instrumental in growing the business.

Forgone Conclusion: Sprint CEO Foresee Resigns from Sprint

Sprint Nextel announced today that Gary Forsee is stepping down as the company’s chairman, president and chief executive officer (CEO), effective immediately. A committee of the Sprint Nextel Board of Directors has been formed and is conducting the search for a new CEO.

It has been reported that the company is struggling to compete with its rivals. Sprint Nextel expects to report a net loss of 337,000 monthly subscribers in the recently completed third quarter and revised its full year profit and revenue projection downwards.
