The Samsung Behold holds a lot of promise as mid-level feature phone for users who want a 5 megpixel camera, multimedia capabilities, email syncing, Bluetooth, GPS, and some web browsing. One reviewer thought the full-featured camera was better than the Moto ZN5 while another thought the Samsung Behold camera was not as good as the ZN5.
All reviewers commented on the great 3G speed of T-Mobile with the Samsung Behold. They also noticed that all features were not top of the line. Web browsing was called lackuster because it defaults to mobile-friendly WAP pages when they are available. The on-screen QWERTY keyboard is small but functional.
Due to the constant iPhone comparision reviewers did not like that the Samsung Behold lacks Wi-Fi. It's mutimedia functions as music player were fine although it requires a propriety headphone jack. The Smasung Behold comes in rose and espresso and is considered by one reviewer to be a fun phone. Call quality was excellent.

T-Mobile send an official response to clear things up to Engadget mobile. Apparently third party applications sometimes disable the disable and turn on data roaming all by themselves.
Official T-Mobile statement:
T-Mobile is committed to delivering the best experience in wireless to our customers. If a T-Mobile customer would like to use their T-Mobile G1 while outside the country, they should contact Customer Care before they leave to ask that the WorldClass feature be added to their service at no additional charge. If they choose, customers can also disable data roaming on the G1. This can be done by going through the following steps: Home Screen > Menu > Settings > Wireless Controls > Mobile Networks > Data Roaming.
Some third party applications available for download on Android Market require access to the internet and have the ability to turn on data roaming when in use. Customers are informed whether an application will use this feature prior to downloading, but should also be aware when traveling outside the country.

Several tech pubs and blogs have been berating the fact that Wal-Mart is selling the T-Mobile G1 Android phone, just a week after the introduction of the phone for $31.11 cheaper than in a T-Mobile store. They say the price reduction is unfair, Wal-Mart associates are not skilled, it was too soon after the release, and the store is not known for cell phone sales. We, say, "Wal-Mart and Google Rules!" Obviously, those geekoid pundits in their silicon towers, have never driven an hour to go to a Wal-Mart in their BMWs. First off, Wal-Mart shoppers will be paying at least $20.00 for gas in a compact car because Wal-Marts are generally not in a major metropolitan area. While there's probably a T-Mobile store much closer to their homes.
Next, the T-Mobile G1 with Google phone buyers will have to walk from the very far end of the parking lot at Wal-Mart, all the way to the back of the store to get the phone. Once inside the Wal-Mart, G1 phone buyers will be subjected to the intoxicating smell of fast food and the siren songs of rock bottom prices for a bunch of cheap junk nobody really needs.

A website sells a code to unlock T-Mobile G1 phones to use another SIM like AT&T. Unlock-TMobileG1.com charges $23.99 USD for unlocking the T-Mobile G1 via an unlock code. Once the G1 is unlocked, the user can't use his/her Google account, rendering Google functions useless.
Now let's think about this, someone buys the G1 for $179.99 and has to sign a two year contract with T-Mobile. Then he/she wants to use the phone on another network, for which he/she will have to pay monthly fees..... That doesn't make sense.
The unlocking website offers a refund to anyone making a video of themselves unlocking their T-Mobile G1 with Google.
There's video of a guy in a yellow shirt (Loic Le Meur, founder of Seesmic )complaining abut the T-Mobile G1and says he's going to return it because:
- The battery life is horrible.
- Everything has to go through Google to sync.
- The camera is bad, it's slow.
- No video.
- Can only up HTML or PDF images, can't open up Word Docs, Excel spreadsheet.
The report estimates that:
- 46% of tweens use cell phones
- On average, kids get their own cell phone between the ages of 10 and 11
- 55% of tweens who own a cell phone send text messages and 21% download ringtones
Mobile Kids Insights measures and profiles the tween mobile market opportunity and explores the drivers of mobile adoption for tweens and their parents. It also illustrates how tweens engage with both mobile and traditional media. The report builds off a successful collaboration between Nielsen Mobile and BASES, which has extensive experience in accessing and surveying kids ages 8-12, a notoriously difficult age segment to survey.
