Finding the best apps for the T-Mobile G1 and myTouch 3G Google Android smartphones can be overwhelming because currently there are thousands of apps out there. So how you can find the best apps? Well you could read reviews of all the apps out there which would take a lot of time, or you could rely on a source like Wireless and Mobile News to review the reviews out there and compile a best of the best list.

Movies by Flixster takes the aspect of movie reviews to the
next level. Through integration with Facebook, you can find friends
who also want to see that movie or read reviews from friends who have
already seen it. It goes without mentioning that T-Mobile wants users to download their T-Mobile My Account.
2. Ringdroid - This ringtone making-app is too much fun not to download. Ringdroid lets you record or edit music and turn it into a ringtone. It supports WAV, MP3 and 3GPP/AMR files.3. Google Maps - Google has a great relationship with Android and it really shows in the Android Map app. They claim you will never have to carry a paper map again. It helps you find where you are through My Location and then help you go where you want to go. There's street view and satellite view as well as look for business listings and dial them directly. Google Maps was recently updated with Voice Search and Google Latitude. If you already have Google Maps installed, we suggest the super voice app Goggle Voice.
5. WHERE - s a bundle of useful GPS apps that help you find people, places and things. Are you looking for the hottest restaurants, coffee or need a cheap fill-up? Maybe you want to know the local weather, traffic or headlines? Whatever you are after, WHERE has it in little information widgets.

According to HTC president Peter Chou, HTC will ship "at least three" Google Android-based smartphones, this year. He made the statement at the Merill Lynch Technology conference.At Mobile World Congress in February, HTC announced the HTC Magic, aka, G2 for the European market, starting with Vodaphone. The HTC Magic is touchscreen only and will feature the cupcake version of Android.
The price of the T-Mobile HTC G1 recently dropped to $47.77 with a trade-in, rebates and new service contract. HTC is also expected to reveal a QWERTY smartphone at CTIA.
The HTC S743 is Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone that supports high-speed HSDPA (850/1900 MHz) networks and will be available through select retail outlets, including dell.com and cdw.com, during the first quarter of 2009.
It's very similar to HTC Touch Diamond smartphone but without the touchscreen and is is 1.7 inches wide and has 2.4 inch QVGA .
The HTC S743 is the latest HTC smartphone to be made available through independent channels in the US. Consumers can buy the HTC S743 through a number of electronics retailers including national retailers, independent wireless outlets and online e-tailers such as dell.com and cdw.com.
HTC is estimating that the HTC S743 smartphone will cost somewhere between $600 and $700.
HTCClassAction.org a newly launched consumer website claims that newer HTC smartphones are slower than previous models due to poor drawing drivers. They urge owners to contact HTC and complain. Although the site has gotten no official response from HTC, HTC is requesting information from owners. After press coverage, an HTC employer says that there is an internal apology email circulating that says that a fix in the works.

The new Sprint version is enhanced with EV-DO support and
compatibility with the Sprint Music Store and Sprint TV. This Sprint
version does not support Wi-Fi but has a faster processor and more
sensitive touch capabilities. The TouchFlo interface is programmable
and well-liked by users and reviewers. Some reviewers raved about the
phone calling it “hot” and ‘hands down one of the best devices I’ve
used in the past two years.” While many reviewers did not like
the fact that the phone does not have a keyboard.
The
TouchFlo interface is easy to learn and use while entertainment
features of the phone rated highly. The HTC Touch has good call, video
and camera quality. The HTC Touch is truly an instance where we
suggest you “try before you buy.” If you have good
finger/eye coordination, the HTC Touch may be your phone, but if you’re
keyed into keyboards, the HTC Touch shouldn’t touch your heart or
wallet.
The HTC Touch costs $249.99 with a 2 year Sprint contract and rebate.
Sprint and HTC Corp. announced the availability of Touch by HTC™, a full touch screen wireless phone integrating Windows Mobile 6 with advanced entertainment features. The Touch by HTC brings together email and business applications with Sprint’s exclusive multimedia content including over-the-air music downloads, live TV and streaming Sirius radio.
The Touch has a 3 inch touch screen that operates by finger swiping. It uses Windows Mobile 6 operating system, which is compatible with Windows PC software applications such as Outlook and uses Internet Explorer as the browser.
Touch by HTC offers MicroSD card slot that supports up to 4GB - a 512MB card is included with the device. Additional features include a 2.0 MP camera/camcorder with up to 5X zoom, advanced stereo Bluetooth® and Voice-activated dialing. The phone costs $249 with a two-year contract ($100 mail-in rebate) and has been sold previously in Asia and Europe. It will be available November 4.
