verizon quad play.jpg

Verizon customers in Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets now can benefit from four-play aka quad-play saving with bundles that include Verizon Wireless. Bundles combine wireless, TV, Internet and home phone services.

The new bundles include Verizon's first "quad-play" of wireless calling, home phone, broadband Internet and TV services.  The packages are available to customers who are served by Verizon's market-leading FiOS services or Verizon's fast, affordable High Speed Internet (HSI), and DIRECTV.

With four services all on one bill, qualifying quad-play customers will save from $59 to $179 per year, depending upon which bundle they order.

Verizon's quad-play bundles will be initially available in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets where Verizon offers landline and wireless services.  The new bundles will be introduced in other Verizon markets in the future.

The basic Verizon quad-play FiOS bundle consists of the national Verizon Wireless calling plan of 450 minutes, Freedom Essentials voice service, FiOS Internet service with downstream/upstream connection speeds of up to 15/5 Mbps and FiOS TV Essentials service for $134.99 per month with a one-year agreement.

For customers served by Verizon's copper network, the lead quad-play bundle consists of the national Verizon Wireless calling plan of 450 minutes, a Freedom Essentials calling plan, HSI service with downstream connection of up to 3 Mbps and the DIRECTV PLUS DVR package for $124.99 per month.  A one-year Verizon commitment and a two-year DIRECTV commitment with hardware lease are required with these bundles.

Additional quad- and triple-play bundles featuring different broadband speeds, TV plans and Verizon Wireless calling plans are also available, as well as additional copper-based double-play bundles.

It's nice to see texting/messaging feature phones to go on sale at Verizon. Verizon is running a deal right now, until October 12 with your choice of Verizon Razzle or Motorola Krave for $19.99. There is no activation fee from October 9 -12, and overnight shipping is free. This is one of the best deals, discounts and coupons that we have found for a Verizon texting phone. An added bonus was that you can buy one and get another one free.

Meanwhile, if you are BlackBerry fan, the Verizon Buy One Get One Free BlackBerry deal is still in affect.

The Verizon Wireless Razzle has a swivel at the bottom of the phone, on one side is a music player and 9onthe other is QWERTY keyboard allowing you to text or make phone calls. The Razzle has V Cast Music with Rhapsody, VZ Navigator, a 1.3 megapixel camera, mobile web, Bluetooth, speaker phone and of course texting/IM/chat. The Verizon Razzle was originally slated to sell for $69.99 with a two-year contract.

The Motorola Krave really looks like a Star Trek communicator with a clear glass flip phone. Reviewers found the design innovative and the touchscreens on the outside and inside accurate. Where the Krave ZN4  excels is as mobile TV device and real conversation piece.  The screen is clear and vibrant. When it came out last year, it originally sold for $149.99 with a rebate.

A copy of the Verizon ad follows. This appears to be a very good deal if you don't need all the features of a smartphone but like to text and surf the web.

Peakviewside.jpg

The Peek Pronto is like a smartphone without the phone and a monthly bill. Well it used to have a monthly fee, when it was sold  for $59.95 and  $14.95 monthly service. Now they've come up with a more Kindle-like deal with none-other than Amazon for a lifetime "Peek Experience."

When you buy the Peek Pronto for $299.95, you can email and text all you want for a lifetime. The Peek Pronto Mobile Messaging Device with Lifetime Service ships for free at Amazon and includes unlimited email, text, IM service, maps and a Facebook app.

In their news release, they call it the "Peek of a Lifetime". Amazon sold-out  their first shipment. Now more Peek Prontos on the way. As of today, the Peek Pronto Lifetime is ranked 144 in electronics. It doesn't ship muy pronto, it expected to ship in one or two weeks.

Palm Pre (Sprint)

Friday, we saw the price of the Palm Pre with a plan and rebates drop to $99 through online retailer Wirefly.  Today, we noticed that  LetsTalk.com has the  Palm Pre for $79 after rebates for new Sprint customers with a contract.

We checked the LetsTalk.com catalog and confrmed that the Palm Pre (Sprint) is listed as $79.99. You will wind up paying more per month because when you buy the Palm Pre you also have to sign-up for a data plan.

The Palm Pre has been well reviewed and is great for those who are socially networked and like to have all their contacts and calendars synced across social networking sites. In a way, the Palm Pre is kind of physic. The Palm Pre (Sprint) has a slide-out keyboard, 3 megapixel camera, media players, and brilliant card system.

There are many free apps for the Palm Pre and its WebOS has many endearing qualities. It was developed by Palm to be a stiff iPhone competitor and according to research comes very close in exceeding expectations.

Our sneaky code-readers discoverd that  a super discount deal  for the Palm Pre mentioned by a major retailer is not really the big- box-store deal, but Letstalk.com buried in the code.

Best Cheapest Discount Deal: Price of Palm Pre Dropped to $99

palmprewirefly.jpg

Wirefly is offering the Palm Pre for $99 to new Sprint customers. Many of you have been waiting for the price to drop below $100. Wirefly will ship the Sprint Palm Pre for free.

Sprint now offers the Palm Pre for $149.99 with a two-year contract and $100 mail-in rebate. The price was dropped with the announcement of the Palm Pixi, earlier this month.

Wirefly usually has better discount deals than the carriers for new customers with a contract. They really know how to run a sale and usually it on the weekends. You don't have to worry about this deal, however, because it is their new deal price for the Palm Pre.

Size and Color VIP to Cell Phone Buyers, Says Wirefly

Most American cell phone buyers still say fancy features are not so important when they  choose a cell phone. According to a new survey from  Wirefly, cell phone buyers' main reason in selecting a phone are for reasons other than having the hottest features.

3 out of 5 consumers (64 percent) are less concerned with high-tech features than they are with the basic form factors, such as the size and color of the phone

The following factors take precedence over cutting-edge technology features:

  • SIZE & FORM - 59% cite size and form of the device as most important.
  • COLOR - 16% cite device color as most important.
  • OTHER - 25% cite "other" factors as most important, including ease of use, size of the keypad, the need for a large display screen, and affordability.
Althoug, we find the survey interestin, the next part where the importance and actual purcharse are compared, it makes more sense when you see the cheap pricing Wirefly has cell and smarphones.

Wirefly offers so many full-featured smartphones such as the BlackBerry Curve 8900 for free during their sales and special promotions, price has to be another big factor in purchase decisions. Yes, people find  the look and the size and color important, but price must also be considered.  Free super-powered and featured smartphones are very inviting, in our opinion.  Wirefly always offers Free FedEx shipping  and other promotions such as coupon codes for  free 2GB memory ( enter WIREFLYMCARD5) and a free Bluetooth headset (enter WIREFLYBTOOTH30 at checkout).

blackberry-tour-unbranded.jpg

The long awaited and talked-about BlackBerry Tour is available from Verizon and Sprint, today.

For a summary of reviews of the BlackBerry Tour, read our Review of Reviews of the BlackBerry Tour. The BlackBerry Tour was code-named Niagra, and the screen has been called "nothing short of stunning . It is a "World" phone which means you can use it other countries. Initial first impressions and sneak peaks of the BlackBerry Tour were impressive.

To find out the lowest prices we found for the BlackBerry Tour, today, look at the after the continue reading link in this article.

The BlackBerry Tour (Niagara) is cross between the BlackBerry Curve and BlackBerry Bold with an operating system similar to the BlackBerry Storm.  .

The BlackBerry Tour offers push e-mail; messaging (IM, SMS, MMS) and social networking; a 3.2 megapixel camera with geo-tagging and video recording; advanced multimedia capabilities; built-in GPS; full HTML Web browsing; and support for Verizon Wireless' Mobile Broadband Connect tethering service.

The only shortcoming of first impressions of the BlackBerry Tour was that it did not include Wi-Fi.  Recently, Sprint revealed that they would require Wi-Fi on all smartphones and now Verizon has followed suit and there have been reports that future CDMA Verizon smartphones will be required to have Wi-Fi. We also suspect the the other much-awaited BlackBerrry Storm 2 will have Wi-Fi too.
