Snaptu - is free service filled with apps that work on the LG Vu and LG Shine that requires internet access.  Snaptu provides iPhone-like applications to almost every mobile phone.  Although the service is geared toward people in the U.K. and Europe it has many free ad-supported apps for facebook, Picasa, Flikr, Twitter and Soduko.

Consumer-oriented functionality smartphones score best according to The CFI Group Smartphone Satisfaction Study, Smartphones, Providers, and the Customers Who Love (and Loathe) Them. The study found little relationship between smartphone satisfaction and satisfaction with the provider while the iPhone bested other smartphones for customer satisfaction while Android smartphone user were the heaviest web surfers.

Using the methodology of the American Customer Satisfaction Index to compare smartphone platforms:

1. The iPhone is the undisputed leader in customer satisfaction, scoring 83 on a 100-point scale, 8% higher than its nearest competitors.
2. Android and the Palm Pre (77) came in second in satisfaction.
   
3.  Research In Motion's BlackBerry (73) was third.
   
4.  Palm's Treo (70) came in forth.
   
5. others" category, which includes Symbian and Windows Mobile, scored 66.

Among smartphone providers:

1. Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile tie in overall provider satisfaction, scoring 79.
   
2. Sprint scores 74.
   
3. AT&T's non-iPhone smartphone customers score 73,.
   
4. AT&T iPhone users rate AT&T 69.

Finding the best apps for the T-Mobile G1 and myTouch 3G Google Android smartphones can be overwhelming because currently there are thousands of apps out there.

• imeem Mobile streams music customized to your tastes, recommending new songs and artists based on which songs you identify as your favorites.

• Phonebook offers an upgraded, more personalized phonebook for Android.
• FreshFace is a theme engine to further customize your myTouch.
• Movies by Flixster takes the aspect of movie reviews to the next level. 2. Ringdroid - This ringtone making-app is too much fun not to download. Ringdroid lets you record or edit music and turn it into a ringtone. It supports WAV, MP3 and 3GPP/AMR files.

3. Google Maps - Google has a great relationship with Android and it really shows in the Android Map app.  They claim you will never have to carry a paper map again. It helps you find where you are through My Location and then help you go where you want to go. There's street view and satellite view as well as look for business listings and dial them directly. Google Maps was recently updated with Voice Search and Google Latitude. If you already have Google Maps installed, we suggest the super voice app Goggle Voice.
4.Shop Savvy - shopping app that when you scan barcodes, it looks up items online to comparison shop in real-time. It also saves items for future shopping.

5. WHERE - s a bundle of  useful GPS apps that help you find people, places and things. Are you looking for the hottest restaurants, coffee or need a cheap fill-up? Maybe you want to know the local weather, traffic or headlines? Whatever you are after, WHERE has it in little information widgets.

Best Free BlackBerry Storm Apps Article.  Free Feel-Goodies  BlackBerry app.

Blyk, a new mobile network for 16 - 24s that's funded by advertising launched Monday. Blyk links young people with advertising  and gives them free texts and minutes every month.  It offers subscribers 217 free texts and 42 free minutes in exchange for accepting MMS (picture messaging) and SMS (text) advertising after that it's 0.15 (BP) a minute.

In order to join users have to be 16-24 years old, live in mainland Britain, own a phone with MMS and be invited. After registering the teen gets a new SIM for his/her phone.  Blyk expects to launch in other parts of Europe in the future.
