Flycell, Inc. announced that it is supporting the Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) charitable organization by donating $1 for each download of the benefit ringtone based on the unprecedented star-studded charity song "Just Stand Up!"

Flycell subscribers can download the benefit ringtone as part of their monthly ringtone subscription and Flycell will give $1 to the Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

RealNetwork also announced the global availability of Cutting Tune for mobile operators. Cutting Tune -- available for deployment in Q209 to mobile operators as an ASP service -- will enable mobile subscribers to select any portion of songs made available by content partners for their Ringtone (RT) or Ringback Tone (RBT), and is the first in the market to offer this functionality for Ringback Tones.

Cutting Tune provides a new way for mobile subscribers to personalize their mobile experience by selecting tracks from their mobile operator's music service and using their PC to turn those tracks into a custom RT or RBT. Subscribers can also "gift" their newly created RTs and RBTs to friends, further increasing the viral nature of RBT and revenue generating opportunities for mobile operators.

Verizon Wireless said  has launched Ringback Buddies.  Ringback Buddies, available as an application on Facebook Platform, allows customers to browse, purchase and manage their ringback tones and jukeboxes while on the site.

With ringback tones, people who call your wireless phone hear music instead of a traditional ring.  Ringback Buddies allows users to easily view the music their friends like or want, purchase those ringback tones, then assign them to their friends, so they hear the music they like when they call you.     

Using Ringback Buddies, customers also will see "top 10" lists of tones and jukeboxes available to sample or to buy.  The application allows users to make recommendations to their friends and see their wish lists.  Music lovers can also rate the most popular or undiscovered ringback tones or invite their friends to add Ringback Buddies to their profiles.

Vringo video ringtone sharing developer has partnered with Nokia to make Vringo’s video ringtone application and media content available to Nokia device owners through the Nokia Download! Web store.

Through Nokia Download!, users can get the Vringo application, then choose from Vringo’s full range of media content—including video clips, animation, avatars, slides shows, music, greetings and more—to create personalized visual or video ringtones.

The application can be used on the handset or on the Vringo website to generate new video ringtones or select the clips they want their buddies to see when they call. Currently, the Nokia Download! Vringo is offering Vringo Channels, a new video ringtone channel service with free specially themed Obama- and McCain-video ringtone channels, Mobile users can personalize their phones by subscribing to a feed of video ringtones updated on either a daily or weekly basis.

With Vringo Channels, users subscribe to themed channels and receive fresh and new content automatically instead of having to update it themselves.

LiveWire and Virgin Mobile USA launched Ringback Playlist, enabling customers to access pre-selected content channels instead of choosing individual tracks for their ringback tone.

Ringback Playlist allows customers to personalize their cell phones by choosing their favorite music genre and category. Each time a call comes into a Virgin Mobile USA customer's handset, a different tune from the Ringback Playlist's selected "station" will be heard by the caller.  Ringback Playlists will be available by music genre, artist, or trend with additional personalization options that can be set based on the caller, the day of the week or time of day.

Nielsen RingScan, a service of The Nielsen Company, has increased its mobile market ringtone data tracking and coverage with the addition of AT&T Mobility's weekly ringtone sales data. Through the expansion, Nielsen RingScan data will now represent ringtone sales of every major US mobile carrier. AT&T, in addition to providing sales data, will also provide weekly ringback sales results for inclusion in Nielsen RingScan's newest report, ringback tracking, scheduled to debut later this year.
