The National Football League (NFL) has teamed-up with Verizon Wireless.  The new four-year agreement for NFL Mobile kicks off next month with coverage of the 2010 NFL Draft to be held from April 22-24 and continues with the NFL's regular season.

Verizon Wireless, which also becomes the NFL's official wireless service sponsor and provide NFL coverage.

Many Winter Olympics fans accessed information form NBC Olympics Mobile platforms (Mobile Web Site and iTunes App), through the full 17 days of the Games amassed 87.1 million page views, 52 million more than the total number of page views for the entire 17-day Beijing Games (34.7 million).

• There have been two million mobile video streams in the17 days, more than six times the total number for the entire 17-day Beijing Games (301k).

Verizon has partnered with NBC for a multi-platform coverage of the  2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games on Verizon's FiOS TV, broadband and wireless.

Beginning with the opening ceremony on Feb. 12, Verizon will offer subscribers access to content across multiple platforms, including an enhanced, interactive TV experience, video on demand, high-def TV, broadband and Verizon Wireless' V CAST service. 

eMarketer estimates that 68.6 million users will log on to the mobile Web at least once per month in 2009. By 2013, that number will increase to 126.2 million people.

The Concept BMW Application Store also allows users to transfer contact data to the navigation system or mobile phone. In addition, the apps are able to pull vehicle-related information--for example, taking the car's location into account when using the social networking tool XING. BMW in the future also hopes to have a constant stream of new apps available for users.

Users can purchase books, newspapers or magazines from a wide variety of sources.Multiple formats including industry standard ePub format and multiple DRM solutions are supported.

NBC.com teamed with Sprint today for a multi-platform, "Heroes."Beginning on September 28 and continuing for 10 consecutive weeks, an original "Heroes" story will unfold on the multiple platforms of NBC.com and Sprint. Viewers can watch TV and interact online and on mobiles at the same time. Mobile content includes graphic mobile novels, interactive texting, secret Sprint clues to mysteries and a $25,000 sweepstakes which links the interactive story.

Each installment in the 10-week run will be launched by a 30-second on-air scene, tied directly to a "Heroes" storyline, which will direct fans to online, mobile and interactive gaming sites. All of the creative content will run parallel to the on-air "Heroes" narrative as well as will allow fans to discover more about the characters through their interaction with the online games, stories, clues and mobile content.

The latest figures from VeriSign show no signs of mobile messaging slowing, its growing exponentially.

Mobile messaging volumes continue to shatter records, according to the latest quarterly index of mobile messaging statistics compiled by the Messaging and Mobile Media Division of VeriSign,.

During the first quarter of 2009, VeriSign, which delivers 60 percent of the text and mobile message traffic in the U.S. inter-carrier market(1), recorded a new high of nearly 84 billion messages delivered throughout the quarter. In 2008, the company successfully delivered more than 224 billion messages across its combined mobile messaging platforms.

VeriSign also delivered more than 1.06 billion SMS and MMS messages on Valentine's Day, which typically generates heavy message volume as texters exchange love notes. It was the busiest day of the quarter and the busiest Valentine's Day on record.

In Q1 2009, VeriSign's combined mobile messaging networks enabled an average of approximately 932 million messages per day. This is an 18.5 percent increase from the previous quarter and a remarkable 96 percent rise over Q1 2008. In total, VeriSign delivered 82.3 billion P2P (peer-to-peer)(2) and over 1.6 billion A2P (application-to-peer) messages in Q1 2009.
