While we searched the halls of the San Diego Convention Center looking for a clue to find the next Samsung Nexus Prime smartphone and Android 4.0 Ice Cream sandwich, Samsung and Google primed the media to be ready for AllThingdsDigitial Asia D Conference next week in Hong Kong.
The invite says "Calling All First-to-Knowers" and shows an Andy Android-shaped Ice Cream Sandwich. Will they serve ice cream sandwichees and show the Samsung Nexus Prime? We will see next week on Wednesday October 19.
Suspected specs of the Samsung Nexus "Droid" Prime include:
- The Nexus Prime will have a Super AMOLED touchscreen which may be as large as 4.5".
- It will be coming from Verizon Wireless first and then to other carriers.
- It most likely will use the 4G LTE network.
- 1.5GHz dual-core processor.
- We know for sure it will have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth becuase it has been certified.
Here's a summary of what has been reported to be included in the update to Ice Cream Sandwich:
- New blue theme.
- Camera has built in panorama mode.
- Redesigned notifications bar.
- Will launch with Google Shopper and NFC enabled.
- Gmail is redesigned.
- May have tray with multiple apps in it.
- Google search bar embedded on very top like in Honeycomb.
