iTunes Changes Tune for iPhone OTA Downloads, DRM and Pricing

iPhone 3 users can now download directly from iTunes on their iPhones. Before, they had to download tunes or content to a computer and then upload it to the iPhone. CNET did report a problem with songs over 10 megabytes which require the use of Wi-Fi or a wired connection to a computer to download songs over 10MB.

Most  iTunes music is now available without digital rights restrictions.  Songs already purchased can be made DRM-free for an additional 30 cents, which equals the higher price of $1.29 for fresher music in the iTunes catalog.

Apple will also introduce variable pricing for its music starting in April, with prices of 69 cents, 99 cents, and $1.29.
