Cellular South, will launch its first Android-powered smartphone, the new HTC Hero. Consumers will be able to pre-order the device as early as October 5. The company is among the first U.S. wireless carriers to announce the availability of the HTC Hero. They say it is the first of a variety of Android-powered smartphones Cellular South plans to offer in the near future.The HTC Hero, featuring Android, has built-in Google mobile services with synchronization, including Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, and YouTube.
