Verizon Preps for Speedy LTE 4G Rollout with SIMs and 3ms Latency

AT&T and T-Mobile won't be the only networks with SIM cards Verizon is speeding up its networking and will be adding SIMs. Leaked  internal Verizon LTE documents show that Verizon is getting its network ready LTE SIM cards.

Currently Verizon, does not use SIM cards but it looks like they will be using them for LTE-enabled devices such as modems, smartphones and other devices.

  • Aircards will be launched before smarpthones.
  • 100 million customers will have access to LTE in 2010.
  • Verizon plans to launch up to 30 LTE cities in 2010 Q4.
  • LTE will offer  average downlink speeds of 5-12 Mbps.
  • New LTE smartphones will be coming next year.
  • The LTE network to have latency of 30ms, which as compared with 100ms on current 3G networks and Sprint Nextel's  mobile WiMAX service.
  • 4G tablets will be coming in 2011.
  • By 2010 50 million devices will have LTE enabled.
  • LTE will support video conferencing, high-end gaming, interactive TV, and heavy data intensive software.
