It looks like Samsung is trying to enter the iPad education market.  Samsung Mobile announced that the University of Southern Mississippi will offer 1,000 Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets to students participating in an Honors College pilot program this fall.

The goal is to provide students with privately funded tablets focused on enhancing access to education. The tablets, loaded with Blackboard Mobile Learn, will give students and educators mobile access to their courses, syllabi, content, e-textbooks, grades, schedules, and emergency notifications.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1  has a
10.1-inch HD touchscreen WXGA (1280 x 800), a 3MP rear
camera, a 2MP front camera, Nvidia Tegra 1GHz dual-core processor,
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI out port, DLNA, a 7000mAh battery and enterprise
encryption.

The Verizon Wireless Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has the added feature of 4G LTE fast access and a $50 discount when purchased with a smartphone (read first look review or see accessories).
