Asus Mini Transformer Prime(Memo 370T) to Quad-Core Ninja Cheap Away at Kindle Fire 4 $249.99?

At CES Asus revealed a seven-inch version of the Transformer Prime that will retail for  $249. It's called Ninja-Core aka Memo 370T and priced at $249.99.  Reviewers who have seen the demo version of the tablet say it could be spectaculor with super specs for a cheap price.

The Asus Eee Pad Memo 370T glides through websites and has an micro-HDMI  port. It can be held like a paperback book.  Because it has a "T" in its model name, we are hoping that will transform with a dock in some way.

Features of the 7" Asus tablet which is expected to be called the Asus Eee Pad Memo 370T:

  • Nvidia Tegra 3's DirectTouch tech,  converts analogue to digital touch inputs for improved touch detection and a smoother tablet experience.
  • Quad-core Tegra 3 processor.
  • 1280 x 800 equal 216 ppi.
  • 16GB of storage.
  • 8MP camera.
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
  • About as thick as the Kindle Fire.
  • Screenshot software button.
  • Note taking features.
  • Due out second quarter of the year.

Our friends across the pond, the U.K. will be dissapointed because it will not be released there.

Another cheap 7" tablet in the pipeline is the ViewPad 70e which will sell for $169.99. The original Asus Transformer Prime has just been updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and was named the coolest tablet of 2011 by Wireless and Mobile News.  We have also just posted the latest video of ICS on the Asus Transformer Prime.
