Facebook announced Facebook Home an Android UI that Facebook claims is "completely new experience that lets you see the world through people, not apps." Facebook partnered with HTC to produce the HTC First, that comes with Facebook Home preinstalled.
Features of Facebook Home include:
- Cover Fee - replaces the homescreen with your Facebook feed and notifications.
- Chat Head -when chatting, photos of friends show up on the page. Messages reach you no matter what you're doing - whether you're checking email, browsing the web, or listening to music. You can move heads around and send Facebook messages or text messages.
AT&T is now taking preorders for the HTC First, with Facebook Home preinstalled for $99.99. The HTC First will come in four colors, white, black, read and light blue. Specs of the Facebook HTC First include a 4.3" (1280x720) touchscreen, 5MP camera, 1.6MP front camera, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 1.4 GHz dual-core processor and LTE.
Home will be available as a free download from the Google Play Store starting April 12. Home works on the HTC One X, HTC One X+, Samsung GALAXY S III and Samsung GALAXY Note II. Home will also work on the forthcoming HTC One and Samsung GALAXY S4, and on more devices in the coming months.
Home will also be available pre-installed on phones through the Facebook Home Program. HTC and AT&T are the first companies working together to deliver a phone with Home. It's called the HTC First and it goes on sale April 12.
