This week has been a great week for new releases, rumors, updates, rhymes, tests and bests.

  • The most anxious lot around are those waiting to buy the HTC EVO 4G LTE that was held up at customs and was seen in the back of Best Buy stores.   It's still out of stock at Sprint online with preorder and great deals with free activations until Monday night..
  • Another soon to run in the Olympics superphone competition is the Samsung Galaxy S III that was sacked, hacked, lacked and backed. Reviews are smacked with praise for most features but don't like the tacky plastic back.
  • There's good and bad news for the Samsung Galaxy Note update.
  • The Droid RAZR/MAXX is destined for Android 4.0 ICS update in this quarter and will have world roaming this summer.

HP TouchPad/Pre Team to Touch Down at Google?

TEnyo Loghe Palm Treo was the first combination of a cell phone and minicomputer, way before the iPhone.  The developer of the Palm Treo also was the innovator behind the Palm Pre, TouchPad and web OS, Ed Colligan along with Jon Rubinstein  developed the concept of synergy for all social media.

Yesterday, we learned that HP was laying off many employees.  Today, we learned that some team members that worked on webOS that became the open-source  Enyo left HP to  join Google. One departing team member is Matt McNully and reportedly the members "responsible for 99% of the code. This could be the good news for Android.

HP webOS TouchPad News - Open & Closed

Hp TouchPadThe tablet that would not die, the HP TouchPad along with its operating system webOS is back in the news.  The HP TouchPad was responsible for more app downloads than for Android tablets while HP showed its commitment to webOS as an open source operation system.

HP CEO Meg Whitman warned attendees at the HP Global Partner Festival that now that Google owns Motorola, Android could become a closed-platform. She let the audience know that HP is still committed to webOS for the long run. If Android becomes closed, then webOS devices would benefit.

HP TouchPad News: webOS Will Live on, Free HP TouchPad Promo & Android Almost

If you were one of the lucky people to nab an HP TouchPad when its price was reduced during the fire sales and promotions, last year, you can rest assure that its operating system webOS will live on.

Those who were hoping for an Android "jailbreak,' it's in the works.  There is still a slight chance that you could get an HP TouchPad for free.

HP announced that it is working to release webOS source code over the coming months starting off with Enyo 2.0 developer tool, today. Enyo 2.0 enables developers to write a single application that works across mobile devices and desktop web browsers, from the webOS, iOS and Android platforms to the Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers.

HP TouchPad Cheap $99/$149 Deal Back Again - webOS Lives Openly, Even in MRI

We've been calling the HP TouchPad the tablet that would not die, now it looks like webOS won't die either, even when exposed to an MRI.    HP finally make decision about webOS and its fire sale of cheap CPO HP TouchPad tablets.  Doctors have used the webOS platform to help compute and analyze in the MRI process in hospitals.

HP announced today that it will continue to be active in the development and support of webOs by opening it to the "open source community"

In an interview,  Meg Whitman confirmed that there will be more webOS devices in the future, "But we will use webOS in new hardware, but it’s just going to take us a little longer to reorganize the team in a quite different direction than we’ve been taking it in the past.”  She also said that tablets such as the HP TouchPad could be possible.

Meanwhile, we've gotten word the HP TouchPad deal will be back on Sunday at 5:00 PM EST, December 11.  The price will be the famous fire-sale deal of $99 for 16GB and $149.99 for the 32GB TouchPad for a limited supply of refurbished TouchPads. An email sent to employees says:
