AT&T will be distributing the BlackBerry Bold Maintenance Release (v4.6.0.508) on August 25, 2009 including via Over-the-Air .

BlackBerry Bold users received an email stating "AT&T has approved the BlackBerry Bold Maintenance Release (v4.6.0.508). This release, which provides several enhancements, will become publically available on August 25, 2009 including via OTA."
A number of enhancements are contained in the Maintenance Release including:

• AT&T Visual Voicemail (optional feature).
• General handset software optimization and improvements.
• Capability to set the device to "2G only" for better battery life and coverage in some international roaming situations.
• Additional VPLs including My-Cast Weather, Wiki Mobile, Mobile Banking, a few games and more.

There has been speculation that there will also be an update to the BlackBerry Tour operating system. However, the Verizon verification process typically takes a long time.
