iPhone 4G to have 640 x 960 High-Res Display, PS Panels and FFS, 24 Million iPhone 4G to Be Shipped

New news leaks from Taiwan report that the iPhone 4G’s display will have a higher resolution of 640 × 960, greater than the 320 × 480 ones currently found in iPhone and higher than the  480 × 640 screens used  by many competitors for Android and Windows Phones.

The higher resolution touchscreen features  PS (in-plane switching) panels with FFS (fringe-field switching), which allow for greater viewing angles without distortion. The Apple iPad also uses these technologies which are well-liked.

The iPhone 4G screen will also reportedly be one-third thinner than the current display, allowing for a larger battery.

Digitimes reports Foxconn will ship 24 million units of Apple’s latest iPhone 4G with shipments starting in June.

The iPhone 4G will run on the Arm Cortex A8 processor and a 512MB memory module from Samsung Electronics, doubling the memory of iPhone 3GS to enabling multi-tasking.

There have been sneak peaks of “found’ iPhone 4G and recently it was revealed that iPhone 4G finder Brian Hogan was turned-in to Apple by his roommate.

Other features revealed of the iPhone 4G are a front-facing camera and the camera has a flash, uses MicroSIM, the battery is 16% larger and it has 2 volume buttons. Release dates for the iPhone 4G are suspectd to be around June 21-23.
