After an initial release date scheduled for August 29, Verizon Wireless will be shipping the Droid mini, early, which may have to do with the sold-out status of the Droid Ultra and MAXX.
The 4.3-inch handset will begin shipping August 22.
Meanwhile, we checked this evening at the Verizon Wireless website which showed that the Droid mini is temporarily out of stock. This follows, yesterday's August 27 ship dates for the Droid Ultra and MAXX that became available in stores, on August 20, yesterday.
The Droid mini comes with a free six months of Google All Access music subscription with unlimited access to millions of songs from any device.
At Wirefly the Droid mini is priced at $49.99 for new contracts/upgrades and in stock for preorder. The Droid MAXX is selling for $199.99 for new contracts/upgrades from Wirefly .
