iPhone 6 Release Date Specs, Speculated for a Saphire Fall

sapphireWhile Mobile World Congress is showing the latest Android and carrier products, the rest of the world is awaiting the next big thing besides Samsung Galaxy S5 , the iPhone 6.

The latest rumors suggest that the next iPhone will have a sapphire display, because of a sapphire display provider GT Advanced report showing increased sapphire materials business as the year proceeds and improved financials in the second half of 2014.

CEO Tom Gutierrez noted that the company aims is "to position GT not only as an exceptional sapphire supplier to Apple but also as an unparalleled world-class supplier of sapphire material and equipment to a variety of customers."  GT Advanced has a facility in Mesa Arizona.

This leads many to believe that the iPhone 6 will be  launched in the fall as previous iPhone 5 have been launched.  It is also speculated that the iPhone 6 will have a 4.7" or larger  screen with 264 pixels per inch like the iPad Air. The iPhone 6 may have a thinner LED backlight, faster processor, camera improvements and new updated iOS 8.

Sapphire glass is very strong  and will be scratch and breakage resistant. It will also protect the processor and other interior elements. It is more expensive to produce than Gorilla Glass.

There are rumors that there will two iPhone 6 models one 4.7" and another 5.7" as well as the new screen may be without a bezel.
