HTC announced the new HTC One, an upgrade to the 2013 HTC One with the same name. It will be sold through major carriers with an exclusive Verizon engagement until April 9. Preorders start today. The HTC One release date is two days before the release of the Samsung Galaxy S5 on April 11.
HTC One (M8) has a quad-core 2.3GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, Android 4.4 KitKat and new HTC Sense 6. The curved metal unibody makes it easy to hold 5-inch, full HD (1080p) touchscreen. HTC BlinkFeed combines several news and social media feeds into one place.
HTC’s Duo Cameras with HTC UltraPixel module and depth sensor and dual flash offer high quality video or photos with special effects. HTC BoomSound delivers sound that is 25 percent louder than the HTC One (M7). It has dual front-facing stereo speakers with new amplifiers, redesigned speaker chambers and a tailored audio profile.
Through April 9, the new HTC One (M8) is available exclusively in Verizon Wireless for $199.99 with a two-year activation plan. Customers who purchase the new HTC One (M8) can get a second one free with an additional two-year activation plan. Verizon is the only carrier to offer the HTC One in Silver. You can also get a $100 Bill Credit when you activate a NEW smartphone line of service with Verizon Wireless. The bill credit will be in two-three months. The original HTC One is now $49.99 with a contract from Verizon Wireless.
