Moto X to Google Play - Like Nexus 4? Update to Android 4.3 Later, She Said Sexy

MotoXsexyThe Moto X and Google relationship is confusing at best.  Google owns Motorola and doesn't give the company any special privileges, but will make sell a  Moto X  Google Play Edition at some point. There were some "touchy ads" that didn't go over well.

The Moto X will not ship with the latest version of Android, because Google did not give Motorola access to Android 4.3 until it was revealed with the new Nexus 7, last month. However, Google will be paying for the $500 million bill to promote the Moto X.

Moto X, T-Mobile, Prepaid, More Google Big Brothering?

MotorolaXsideandtopThere have been many responses and confusion, after the Moto X announcement, yesterday.  Analysts are not super enthused, T-Mobile customers may have fewer options, cheaper models are coming and some people should be concerned about privacy.

Many analysts noted that Google's Moto X is entering a crowded highly competitive market. Also, Google has not done well when it made its own hardware such as the defunct Nexus Q media streaming media ball and expensive Chromebook Pixel laptop. Meanwhile, many smartphone owners are stuck with family plans and upgrade cycles they can't  escape.

Moto X Motomaker Gets Personal Droid Ultra Gestures Demoed

MotoXcolorsThere were no major surprises during the media event today when the Moto X was revealed. The Motorola X is being touted as an innovation in smartphones with personalization features and voice activated controls without touching it. Demonstration videos follow.

Buyers choose the colors, front, back, accents, memory, wallpapers, even add a name or a short message. The system is called MotoMaker a video demo appears below. Motorola claims it will complete customization shipped to within in four days or less after parts are assembled in Fort Worth, Texas. If you don't like it you can return it in 14 days. This feature will only be available for AT&T at first, when it launches in late August or September.  A wooden case won't be available until Q4.

Moto X eX-Specs-tations Nexus Q-Balled or US Priced for Release Date

motoxThere has been quite a bit of information leaked about the Moto X, the next smartphone coming from Motorola, that will be announced on August 1. The are some great expectations around the specs, release and details of its release.

We already know that the Moto X will have customizable options and a 4.7" touchscreen that is 720 x 1280 pixels.  This should make not be confused with the 4.3" Droid mini or 5" Droid Ultra/MAXX.  It will definitely run Android, Jelly Bean 4.2.2 or later. Other specs include front facing camera, GPS and Wi-Fi. The Moto X in retail stores will come in Black or White.  Meanwhile a Googler was seen with one in green.

Next New Nexus 7 on 7-24 with More and not Moto X

Google has sent out invites to the media for an event in San Francisco on July 24, with Sundar Pichai, product manager for Android and Chrome. Leaked planograms from Office Depot reveal a new Nexus 7. There is no word yet about the Nexus 5 smartphone.

Many contend that at the Google event, it will reveal a new version of Android 4.3 and the next new Nexus 7 tablet. Office Depot pricing for the new 32GB Nexus 7 appears to be $269.99 or $229.99.

Android Central showed leaked photos showing a rear camera, quad-core 600 Snapdragon processor, microUSB port for charging, black case, and dual speakers.
