The T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy S II is being updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The optional update Software T989UVMC6 is available via Samsung Kies software only (instructions follow). This update changes the OS to Jelly Bean and adds Samsung features.
Verizon Wireless announced that the DROID 4 by Motorola will updated to Android< 4.1, Jelly Bean. The software upgrade will be pushed to customers in phases starting Tuesday, March 19.
The update is 98.72.18.XT894.Verizon.en.US. Features of the update include Voice Search, smart keyboard, Google Now and other well-known Jelly Bean features,
Verizon Wireless announced that the update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is ready for the Samsung Galaxy S III. The update will start rolling out on December 14.
Verizon customers should note that typically the Over-the-Air update is pushed out in small numbers and increased over time. This is not the recently announced Premium Suite update that adds Samsung Galaxy Note 2-like features.
Major features of the update include ISiS Payments, voice typing for Google Maps, Google Now and global roaming. Isis is available in select markets only. A new Sim Card and special software will be required to use the Isis Mobile Wallet.
It is always a good idea to backup your data before any update and make sure your battery is at least 50% charged. You will not be able to make calls during the update process .
Motorola has updated its Android software update page. After excluding the Motorola Atrix 4G, earlier this year, they have updated some details of the planned Android updates for the end of this year and beyond.
The first good news is that the Motorla Atrix HD rollout to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will begin in December of this year. Popular Verizon Wireless models to that will be upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will be the Droid RAZR, Droid RAZR/MAXX, Droid 4 and Droid Bionic. There is also good news for Motorola Xoom (3G/LTE) tablet owners there will be update in the first quarter of 2013.
The well-reviewed Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR MAXX HD are getting an update to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Over-the-Air. The update is being pushed out over time and should be available later for manual download. Typically Verizon starts sending updates out slowly and then increases the push over time.
Verizon spokesman Albert Aydin announced on last Friday(November 30) that the update would start his week. In general stronger pushes of the update start on Thursday and are increased over the weekend. We've several reports of users getting updates Over-the-Air today.
