Android Iron Man2 Ally Arrives at Verizon Not 2Day 5/20, Now 5/27

ally_phoneironman2.jpgWe were checking our release date calendar for May and June already and realized that the Iron Man2 Android 2.1 smartphone the LG Ally was supposed to go on sale today. We checked on the Verizon website and with our local store and the LG Ally is still showing pre-order.  It looks like the demand for Android smartphones at Verizon is slowing down the sale process.

The Droid Incredible was selling out almost on the first day of sale.  Then Lowell McAdam reported that there was a shortage of parts for the Droid Incredible which would have out-sold the Droid if not for the shortage.

Brenda Raney spokeswoman for Verizon just informed us via email, that, Date of the LG Ally was moved to 5/27. Customers can order from any store or online.

The fun part of the LG Ally is all the Iron Man 2 freebies such as the comic books and virtual reality apps.

The LG Ally has a silver-and-black outer case with 3.2" touchscreen (with tactile vibration) and slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, S-GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera and Bluetooth 2.1.

The LG Ally operating system is the latest version Android 2.1 OS. They've added LG Widgets including calendar widget, Weather+time, Socialite widget for the home screen. The Android LG Ally memory is 512MB ROM and  256MB RAM for its 600 MHz ARM11 processor. There are two sensors one for back-lighting auto-adjustment and a sensor for when the  LG Ally is near a face/ear.

There are Iron Man 2 LG Ally  promotions including an augmented reality app,  Iron Man 2 content and comic book, contests and community.  The micro-site reminds users, "Failure is not an option."

The LG Ally  has a built-in MP3 and WMA music player with music library, repeat and shuffle features, as well as stereo sound via headset or Bluetooth

The 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera and camcorder has zoom, Macro Mode, Panorama
Scene modes.  The image editor can zoom, rotate, resize, crop, added frames and stamps. Other neat features of the LG Ally are that users can get backup assistant.

The LG Ally available is priced at $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement, it available for pre-order. Customers will receive the rebate in the form of a debit card; upon receipt, customers may use the card as cash anywhere debit cards are accepted.Don't forget to use the Instant Phone Rebate Only Available with Online Purchase coupon-link to avoid waiting for a rebate.

A price has not been revealed yet for the LG Ally or if it qualifies for the Verizon Buy-One-Get-One 3G smartphone free deal. We do know that on the first day of sale of the well-reviewed often sold-out Droid Incredible was elligible for buy one-get-one free.
