Update 05/02/11 - We discovered through the HTC ThunderBolt forums that the update was delayed and will begin rolling out tomorrow, May 3.
The HTC ThunderBolt update from Verizon Wireles includes better 3G web browsing, email/messaging glitch fixes, faster activation, greater data stability, more accurate weather widget locations, and fast GPS updates.
The 22.28 MB software update will take approximately 5 minutes to download and 5 to 10 minutes to install. You will receive a notice of an OTA (Over-the-Air) update, or you can manually start by going to Home > Menu > Settings > Software Update > Check New. Tap "Restart & install."
If you are roaming, you will not receive a system update notice. You will need to enable Wi?Fi and wait for the update notice to appear or check for the update yourself.
Unfortunately, the update does not change the audio issues or fast-battery drain. Usually, it is a good idea for you to back up your data and settings before starting an update.
You should also make sure that your HTC ThunderBolt is at least 40% charged. You will not be able to make or receive phone calls during the update. More information available at the Verizon HTC ThunderBolt support page.
