The iOS 6.1.3 was supposed to solve and prevent problems now it looks like it is causing problems. The security hole that allowed crooks to access contacts through emergency calling has been fixed, there are reports of battery drain, email,Wi-Fi and other issues.
We looked through support forums and forum members as well as Apple have supplied some fixes for some of the problems. For some the battery drain issue is connected to corrupted connections to email and iCloud. Apple also suggested resetting Wi-Fi if after the iOS 6.3.1 update for iPhone 3Gs, 4/S, 5 and iPad 2-4.
Severe battery drain and iPhone 4S, iPad email not working after update, especially Gmail accounts.Possible FIX: Reset email and iCloud.
If you have a push email account (MS Exchange, Yahoo, Hotmail, gmail, AOL, iCloud) the mail app may be stuck trying to deal with a corrupt data record.
- Go to Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendar, tap on the account name and turn off the switches for mail, contacts, calendar, etc.
- Then reboot the phone by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons until an Apple logo appears (typically about 10 seconds).
- Then go back to Settings and turn the switches back on. Wait an hour before testing again, as the account needs to resync, and this will use power.
- Facebook is another app that can get "stuck", as can Find Friends (which you already suspected), or many other social networking apps.
Problems connecting to Wi-Fi, giving error messages that password is incorrect. Wi-Fi Connectivity Grayed or Not Working -
- Make sure that Airplane Mode is off.
- Restart your iOS device
- Update your iOS device
- Reset Network Settings, by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
- Restore your iOS device in iTunes.
One user put it this way "Please fix or I have not choice to buy a Samsung Galaxy S 4." In the old days Android users would say "I should have bought an iPhone" now it's the other way around.
Oh yeah, that wifi thing totally repairs it.
Not.
Tried all the steps. Still greyed out. This type of stuff is a total dealbreaker. Either get your stuff together, or i go to Android. Simple as that.
