The BlackBerry Storm shortage continues at Telus in Canada. They are only selling BlackBerry Storms to new customers with a three-year contract, according to their website which shows all Storms currently "Temporarily Out of Stock":

The fine grey print states "Limited quantitles at TELUS locations. Offer limited to new clients activating a new contract on a 3 year term with combination of voice email & data plans totalling $45 or more." (Click on image to see it at acutall size.)

Note if you a BlackBerry Storm online you get a $50 gift card.

Prices for the BlackBerry Storm will be more for shorter contracts which can be obtained at the website by clicking on the duration:

Three-Year -$249
Two-Years  - $449
One-Year  - $549
No cCntract - $599

The Telus news release states, "The BlackBerry Storm smartphone will be available at select TELUS
stores across Canada in limited quantity starting today, with
availability in additional TELUS stores in January."

BlackBerry Cool advised orders placed after December 17, will not arrive in time for Christmas.

It has been suggested that the full-launch of the BlackBerry Storm was delayed until January
because RIM can not deliver enough stock. Current estimates report
that Telus only has
2,500 units for all of Canada, reports Boy Genius.  BGR also states that
the few BlackBerry Storms who find their way to Telus stores will only
be sold to new customers.
