BlackBerry Storm App of the Day: QuickLaunch

Here's an app developed by a BlackBerry Storm lover for Black Berry Storm users that makes use of the Storm easier. It makes shortcuts for the apps and functions you use the most. We named it the BlackBerry Storm App of the Day because of the amount of time it saves.

QuickLaunch makes shortcuts to any application or function on your BlackBerry. The menu can be displayed on top of virtually any screen so there is no more backing out out a program and navigating through folders to find icons. Their website says, QuickLaunch provides "quick easy access to what you want to do wherever you are!"

Some suggested ways of using QuickLaunch is to launch contacts, the camera, check system functions or to launch third party apps.

You can configure a convenience key to activate QuickLaunchand when pushed a menu will popup showing a scrollable list of your configured actions. The menu can be set to appear on the Right or Left side and can be shown on virtually any screen so you can perform any action without backing up and navigating through your homescreen and folders saving you time.

QuickLaunch does not run in the background taking up resources. QuickLaunchruns only when it's opened allowing you to choose your previously configured shortcut, function or 3rd Party Application. Make your selection by highlighting the menu item you want and your off. QuickLaunch then exits until you run it again.

QuickLaunch is available from OnlyBlackBerry.com for $4.95. They just launched versions for the BlackBerry Bold and Curve.

Here's a video review of how it works.

This is an awesome app! There are just not enough apps out for the Storm, especially compared to the iPhone.

I'll be looking out here for more updates!
